Proper Application of the Natural Sunscreens: It is important to recognize that the use of a natural mineral for the purposes of screening UV rays is that the minerals reflect the rays, not allowing for penetration of the skin by the harmful rays. That being said, the application of a lotion containing natural minerals designed to be used to reflect the UV rays, is important. Be aware that it is not necessary to rub the lotion “in” to the skin. On the contrary, your intent is to “wipe” it onto the skin in a smooth manner. Pretend as if your hand were a paint brush and gently wipe the lotion on the areas to be protected. No more than 3 to 4 wipes is needed. You will find that the areas to be protected are covered evenly, allowing the sunscreen minerals to lie on the skin to protect and the moisturizing ingredients, designed to hydrate the skin will absorb. In this environment, you wish to treat your skin gently, as it is in a format that it is not used to on a normal basis, that being in the sun for lengthy periods. There may be an initial whitish hue on the skin upon the application, but it will dissipate quickly if you use the wiping method mentioned. There may be a line or two that you gently wipe after the initial 5 minutes from applying. Our suggestion is to wipe the hands clean with a towel, cloth, or napkin after the application process. Re-application should be done every hour to hour and a half.
