Hair responds in different ways to heat, cold, smoke, diet and chemicals according to author, Audrey Hampton. Don't forget to condition, no matter what type of hair you have. Colored, Bleached, Dry to Oily, a good conditioner is vital. It can repair hair damage; rebuild the cystine bridge damaged by chemicals or heat thru hair treatments. Avoid hair products with hydrolyzed animal protein, stearalkonium chloride, or mineral oil derivatives such as propylene glycol. Use those with natural herbal oils, fatty acids, amino acids, and milk proteins. And one thing that you'll enjoy comes right from your kitchen, an egg. Mix an upcooked egg and apply it to the hair, rinse 20 minutes later. The proteins from it will be valuable!
