Summer 2011 is about simple beauty and a splash of colour.  Here are some suggestions that you'll want to share on your next Girls Night Out!

Face

Start with Primer
Primers do the trick to help prevent color fading and assist in longer wear. Women are busy, so think about this as a time saver!  If you have larger pores, it will even out the skin's texture as a bonus.  Try a sample of Beauty Wise Mattifying Primer or 100% Pure Luminous Primer to see for yourself!

Use A Concealer
If you want a flawless look you must use a concealer.  If you have blemishes, dark circles or any skin pigmentation issues, using a concealer to camouflage under your foundation is a must.  Get a shade that is lighter and warmer than your foundation because circles and blemishes are a different color than the skin.
Generally concealers are in loose powder form or cream (concealer sticks, tubes, cake or pots).  Using the right applicator makes all the difference, and how you use it matters.  For a loose concealer powder, try using a cosmetic brush to apply it like the Beauty Wise Eye Shadow / Concealer Bamboo Handle Applicator.  For a cream base, try the Beauty Wise Foundation Bamboo Handle Applicator.  If you need something to conceal more area than just here and there, check into the Beauty Wise Corrective Liquid Foundation.

Find The Right Foundation
When I was a teen and started wearing makeup, of course I started in my own bathroom where my mother kept her stock of beauty must have's. But I soon discovered that her must have's were not mine.  Finding the right foundation is important for a natural look.  So here is a simple suggestion to help you choose the right shade for you.  Start by testing three skin hues.  Apply them on your cheek/jaw side by side like stripes.  Choose one that you know will match, one that may match and one you know will never match.  See how it looks in daylight as well.  Blend them slightly.  If one is chalky on your skin - pass on it.  If you can't tell, ask a friend to help.  Skin tones can deepen in summer, so consider adjusting your shade seasonally.

Add A Touch Of Glow
Don't fear adding a touch of the sun to your skin for that perfect radiant glow.  It's never been more easy.  Bronzers come in matte and shimmer textures.  You can apply them like a blush, or wrap the color lightly on your forehead and down to your chin.  Loose bronzing powders can be added to your foundation to add some warmth or even to your loose finish powder for a lighter look.  Sometimes adding a bronzer to your finish powder is just enough to change up your look for summer.  Bronzing powders can come in loose or pressed powders.  Try a sample of Beauty Wise Bronzer Powder or 100% Pure Bronzing powder to see for yourself!  Another tip is to try creme blush.  This will give your cheeks a touch of dew that will brighten up the face. Apply it with your fingers, a sponge or a foundation brush.  For a long day, you may want to layer a powder blush over a creme blush if your afraid of the color fading. Try a sample of 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Pot Rouge with their Pressed Powder Blush to see for yourself.

Eyes

Wow To The Brow
So many neglect their brows when they consider their make up. But well kept brows give you a polished look.  Consider a few tools for your makeup drawer: tweezers, brow scissors, brow applicators and even stencils. The brows need trimmed regularly and symmetrically shaped as well for an eye appealing look.

For sparse eye brows, use an eyebrow pencil. Many come with smudgers these days such as Sante Cosmetics Brow Pencil.

For brows with one or two hairs missing, consider using a brow dust. Brow dust usually comes in a loose powder form such as Beauty Wise Brow Dust.  If you are changing your hair color, using a complimentary brow dust will also be appropriate to tie the look together.  Their are many colors on the market such as Auburn, Pale Blonde/Blonde, Medium Blonde/Natural Brown and Brunette. If you want to emphasize a full natural brow, try a cream or gel brow product such as 100% Pure Brow Compact.

Mascara Musts
For a full lash, it's all about how you apply.  Try considering the following: With eyes open, apply mascara from the base to the tips, then close your eyes and apply one coat from on top from the lid to the tip.  Finish by applying mascara across the lash from right to left in a wiggling motion.  You can also add drama to the lash by applying one shade and tipping the lashes with another such as a burgandy, blue or purple!

Eye Attraction
Keep things simple this summer by choosing one shadow in a earth tone such as brown, bronze, taupes, dark greens and even coppers.  Some suggestions we offer are 100% Pure Eyeshadow in Toffee and St Tropez; Honeybee Gardens Eyeshadow in Satin Sheets and Sedona.  These shades all have a touch of glimmer to them. These are just a few we have to choose from.  Combine them with an eyeliner, mascara and a great brow, you'll have a pulled-together look that will be sure to impress!
